Selecting recipes
Pick the recipes and QuickBites you’re planning to make this week. Selections build your shopping list on the Groceries page and are shared with everyone in the kitchen.
- Open the Menu page. Recipes and QuickBites appear grouped by category.
- Tap the checkbox next to each item you want to make. The list updates live for everyone in the kitchen — if a household member checks a recipe, you’ll see it checked too.
- Visit Groceries to see the combined ingredient list, or tap the arrow next to a recipe title to open it in a new tab.
To remove an item, tap its checkbox again. Its ingredients drop from the Groceries list and stop appearing on the Pantry page. Their pantry state is preserved, though — bought-status, cadence cycle — and is restored if you re-check the recipe later.
Unchecking a recipe (not a QuickBite) also tells mirepoix you cooked it, feeding the Dinner picker’s recency weighting.
Reading the availability pill
Each row shows a small pill next to its checkbox summarizing what’s on hand. “On hand” means a Pantry row marked as bought and still inside its cadence cycle.
- ✓ (green) — every ingredient is on hand, ready to cook
- Need N (amber) — one or two ingredients missing, a short stop
- Need N (faded amber) — three or more missing, a longer trip
Tap the pill to expand a Have / Missing breakdown so you can see exactly which ingredients are short.
