Joining a kitchen

Accept a kitchen owner’s invitation by clicking the link in your email and entering the 8-character code they sent you. A kitchen is a recipe collection shared by a household, family, or group of friends — owners invite members one email at a time.

  1. Open the invitation email and click Accept invitation.
  2. On the landing page, tick the consent box, then tap Continue. The box confirms your recipes stay private and are never sold or used to train AI. Mirepoix pre-fills your email and opens the code-entry form.
  3. Paste the 8-character code from the same email and tap Sign in.
  4. If this is your first time using Mirepoix, enter a display name when prompted.

You’re in. You’ll see the kitchen’s recipes, menu, groceries, and pantry, and you can edit them like any other member.

The code is good for 24 hours and can be used once. If you don’t finish in time, ask the owner to send a new invitation.

If you’re already signed in as the same email

You skip the code step. The landing page shows a single Accept invitation button — tap it and you’re in immediately. The first time you accept an invitation, you’ll also tick the consent box. It confirms your recipes stay private and are never sold or used to train AI. If you’ve agreed before, the box doesn’t appear again.

If you’re signed in under a different email

The landing page shows the address you’re signed in as and the address that received the invitation. Tap Sign out, then click the Accept invitation link in your email again to continue with the right account.

If you didn’t expect this invitation

Ignore the email. The code expires in 24 hours, and no one can accept the invitation without either the code or access to your account.

If you already have a Mirepoix account

The same flow works. Accepting adds your account to the new kitchen without changing anything about your existing memberships — visit the Mirepoix home page to see all the kitchens you belong to and switch between them.

Why the email includes a code

Clicking the link only pre-fills your email. Typing the 8-character code proves you control the inbox the invitation went to. This stops anyone who merely knows your email address from accepting an invitation in your name.
