Deleting a kitchen

Delete a kitchen from the Settings page. Only owners can do this, and there’s no undo.

  1. Open Settings and scroll to Delete $kitchen.
  2. Tap Delete this kitchen… to expand the confirmation form.
  3. Type the kitchen name to confirm (case doesn’t matter).
  4. Tap Delete forever.

mirepoix removes the kitchen and shows the message Deleted $kitchen. on the homepage. Every other member receives a notification email naming you as the deleter.

What gets removed

Everything in the kitchen goes. That covers every recipe, the menu, every meal-plan entry, the entire pantry, every custom grocery item, every cook-history entry, every pending invitation, and every member’s access. Other kitchens you belong to are untouched.

Your own account stays. To remove that too, see Deleting your account. Deleting a kitchen also doesn’t delete its members’ user accounts — they keep their accounts and any other kitchens they belong to.

When the button doesn’t appear

The Delete this kitchen… button only renders for owners. If you don’t see it, you’re a member, not an owner — ask a current owner to delete the kitchen, or to promote you first via Members → Make owner.

When the confirmation doesn’t match

If the typed name doesn’t match the kitchen name, mirepoix shows The confirmation didn’t match. Kitchen not deleted. and returns you to the kitchen’s Settings page with the kitchen still intact. Try again — case differences are forgiven, but stray spaces or typos aren’t.

The form also won’t submit until you type something into the field and tap Delete forever. Closing the disclosure or navigating away from the Settings page before that point cancels the operation.
